MAIN CATEGORY

contest.maincategory.subtitle

In our main challenge, we invite you to craft a completely new questline! Here’s your chance to tell your own tale and forge an adventure of your own making — whatever that might be! For each submission, we’ll be looking for creativity, originality, and technical excellence to shine through. Here are some quick guidelines you should know:

  • You can enter individually or in teams of up to 5 people
  • A questline should include 2–3 interconnected quests
  • Submission deadline: October 14, 2024

MODDING CHALLENGES

To warm up for the Main Category, you can take part in smaller Modding Challenges along the way! A themed challenge will be unveiled every couple of weeks to give you an opportunity to showcase your individual skills.

Summer vibes
Challenge #1:

Summer vibes

Remember Triss’ green robes or Yennefer’s feathered attire? In this challenge, we’re asking you to create an alternative SUMMER look for any character. It could be a breezy summer dress for Ciri, a smart-casual outfit for Dandelion, or a beach look for the Bloody Baron — the possibilities are endless!

DEADLINE: 30.07.2024
Show us your moves
Challenge #2:

Show us your moves

Become the NPC puppeteer! In this challenge, we task you with creating a new animation for any character besides Geralt. It could be a cool pose that goes with Photo Mode, an entire choreographed dance routine, or anything in between!

DEADLINE: 27.08.2024
Fall is coming
Challenge #3:

Fall is coming

The days are getting shorter and a chill (unrelated to the Wild Hunt) can be felt in the air. In this final challenge, we’d like you to show us how fall can transform the Continent. Maybe trees across Toussaint turn red and lose their leaves, or residents of Velen redecorate their homes for the upcoming Saovine… Or maybe you can conjure something up that we couldn’t even dream of!

DEADLINE: 24.09.2024

FAQ

I'm interested in participating, but I haven't used REDkit before. Where can I learn more about it?

You can find everything you need on the official REDkit website, including a series of 13 official video tutorials, a REDkit-specific FAQ, and comprehensive documentation.

What's the difference between the Challenges and the Main Category?

Challenges are smaller tasks where we give you a couple of weeks to create a mod by yourself. In the Main Challenge, you can participate individually or as a group of up to 5 people. The Main Challenge task is more complex and you have more time to work on the submission.

How can I submit my mod into the contest?

First, you need to upload your mod to Nexus Mods and include a detailed description of its features on the mod page. Next, fill out the submission form on the contest's website providing all the information we require. Don't forget to upload screenshots and/or a video (eg. link to YouTube) of your mod in action. For the Main Category, it's mandatory to upload at least 10 screenshots and one gameplay video in English, lasting between 5 to 10 minutes.

Are there any specific requirements for the mods?

Submitted mods have to be created with The Witcher 3 REDkit and incorporate all necessary requirements listed for each entry type. They should fit the theme of the current Challenge or Main Category. Mods cannot violate the applicable law or Contest Rules — as well as any third party intellectual property or personal rights. Mods cannot feature any content or mechanics that might be considered racist, xenophobic, sexist, NSFW, defamatory, or otherwise offensive. Mods cannot utilize AI (Artificial Intelligence) in any way.

Can I change my mod once it was submitted?

Yes, you can modify and update your mod until the submission phase for the given category is concluded.
